The EP Warriors thrashed Western Province by an innings and 114 runs at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Friday.
Tshepo Ndwandwa took 3-7 in the first innings and Wihan Lubbe 3-27 in the second to help secure the big win for the home side.
The Warriors added 81 runs to their overnight score, with Kyle Jacobs going on to reach his second first-class fifty to take his team to 366 all out before the hosts turned the screws with ball in hand.
Western Province were skittled out for 79 after 28.3 overs, with Ndwandwa and Mthiwekhaya Nabe taking three scalps apiece to blow Province away in the windy city and enforce the follow on.
WP fared a bit better in their second innings, with a late cameo from Basheeru Walters (52 off 47 balls) taking them to 173 all out.
In Potchefstroom, Marques Ackerman (123 off 156 balls) and the KZN Dolphins amassed 400-9 dec against the North West Dragons, with youngster Bryce Parsons making 65 and Ruan de Swardt 71.
The Dragons were 4-0 at stumps.
In Paarl, in response to the Northern Titans’ 308, the Boland Rocks were 142-4 with Ismael Gafieldien making 52.
In a rain-interrupted day at the Wanderers, where only 42 overs were bowled, the Central Gauteng Lions ended on 150-2 having bowled the Free State Knights out for 124.
An 88-run partnership between Kagiso Rapulana (41*) and Joshua Richards (80*) gave the Lions a 26-run lead.
