KZN Dolphins spinner Prenelan Subrayen took career-best figures of 7-52 against the Northerns Titans at Kingsmead on Monday.
After no play was possible on day one due to rain and bad light, 15 wickets fell on day two.
Subrayen’s heroics and 3-58 from JJ Smits saw the Titans bowled out for 165.
Dewald Brevis, making his first-class debut, was bowled for two off four balls by Subrayen. Fortunately for the Titans, their tail wagged, with Corbin Bosch scoring 54 off 53 balls and Ayabulela Gqamane a patient 27.
Bosch and Donovan Ferreira then each picked up two wickets to reduce the Dolphins to 32-4, before Jason Smith (39*) and Grant Roelofsen (36) got the innings back on track.
Roelofsen was dismissed late in the day, to leave the hosts 109-5 at stumps.
At the Wanderers, Western Province posted 386-9 in reply to the Central Gauteng Lions’ first-innings total of 323.
Zubayr Hamza scored a superb 129 before being caught and bowled by the Lions’ centurion, Bjorn Fortuin.

At St George’s Park, Patrick Kruger took 5-21 as the Free State Knights skittled the EP Warriors for 134.
At stumps, the visitors were 37-2 in their second innings and leading by 325 runs.
