Jason Smith hit an unbeaten hundred as the KZN Dolphins posted 322-7 against the North West Dragons at Kingsmead on Sunday.
The Dolphins made a poor start to the match, losing openers Sarel Erwee and Marques Ackerman early on.
But Tshepang Dithole (35) and Khaya Zondo (79) got the innings back on track, before Smith struck a superb 118*.
Smith received good support from Andile Phehlukwayo (28) and JJ Smuts (42) as the Dolphins finished the day on top.
Eldred Hawken and JP King each picked up two wickets for the Dragons.
Only 32 overs of play were possible at St George’s Park due to rain.
The Warriors were 90-3, with Matthew Breetzke unbeaten on 35 and Sinethemba Qeshile on 5*.
Captain Rudi Second (10) retired hurt after being struck on the helmet by a quick Ayabulela Gqamane delivery.
Last week Jordan Hermann had to go off the field after being hit on the back of the head and isn't playing today
