Bjorn Fortuin’s unbeaten 123 powered the Central Gauteng Lions to 323 all out against Western Province at the Wanderers on Sunday.
After opting to bat first, the hosts were in big trouble at 123-7 before Fortuin (batting at No 7) and Malusi Siboto (52) put on 144 for the eighth wicket.
Mitchell van Buuren (46) and Dominic Hendricks (44) made important contributions at the top of the order.
Beuran Hendriks was the pick of the bowlers for WP with 5-59, while Mihlali Mpongwana picked up 3-51.

At St George’s Park, the Free State Knights posted 422 in their first innings against the EP Warriors thanks largely to the efforts of Gihahn Cloete (93), Patrick Kruger (81) and Pite van Biljon (48).
Beyers Swanepoel took 5-82, including the big wicket of Cloete.
