Proteas discard Sarel Erwee struck 132 off 141 balls for the KZN Dolphins against the Free State Knights in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
The Dolphins began day three with a lead of 125 and declared their second innings closed on 336-6 to set the hosts an unlikely 425 to win.
Erwee – who was last week dropped from the Proteas Test squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies – received good support from Khaya Zondo (55*) and Grant Roelofsen (49).
The Knights lost Isaac Dikgale (one) and Matthew Kleinveldt (10) early on in their run chase, before Raynard van Tonder (43*) and Pite van Biljon (27*) took them to 84-2 at stumps.
At the Wanderers, Ryan Rickelton hit 125 off 112 balls, including 11 fours and seven sixes, as the Central Gauteng Lions posted 433 – just five short of the EP Warriors’ first-innings total.

Temba Bavuma (67), Dominic Hendricks (62) and Joshua Richards (60) all scored half-centuries, while Glenton Stuurman (3-73) and Beyers Swanepoel (3-74) each picked up three wickets.
Kagiso Rabada then dismissed Jordan Hermann for a first-ball duck as the Warriors ended the day on 5-1.
It was going to take something special to finally halt Jordan Hermann's streak in 4-day cricket this season
